Why it’s hard to be a woman in India?

It's hard to be a woman anywhere in the world not only in India but in India the case is interesting.

We live in a society where we worship woman in form of various goddess such as Durga Maa, Kali Maa, Saraswati Maa etc. Yet we hear so many news regarding violence and hatred against woman.

For thousands of years patriarchy has destroyed and exploited not only men and women but all the humans, and we understand so little about it.

We have conditioned woman to suppression that they think whatever the hardships they are facing are the fact and they stop fighting back.

Every ritual in weddings and festivals from Raksha Bandhan to Karva Chauth are patriarchal in nature. It glorify men as superior and women as inferior that women need "protection" from men all the time.

There is a notion which has been conditioned in the society for both men and women is that a man should be there for a women in form of a brother, a father or a husband or else there is no identity of women.

Many women also conform this as the ultimate truth because obviously they have been conditioned for ages like this, they have seen their mother and sisters behave in a certain "acceptable" way of society.

There are so much layers of rules and laws of morality before women, just imagine the conditions of lower caste, underprivileged, multidimensional poor women in India.

In this age of social media these social evils are rising to a concerning level, we need more debates and discussions on these topics.

As a citizen of India it's our duty to protect our fellow citizens and humans, we should take step to educate, elevate and empower everyone.
